There are times when the search index used by Papers could become outdated or needs repair. This often becomes apparent when you try to do a search in Papers, and either no search results show up or you only find a limited number of results while being confident you should be seeing more (or certain) articles. The same is true when searching for citations in Magic Manuscripts and either not finding the articles you are looking for but know are in your library, or citations appears to keep searching without showing any results.
It is very easy to rebuild your search index, just follow these steps:
- Quit Papers
- Start Papers while holding the ctrl + alt keys
- A maintenance window will show
- Click on "Rebuild Search Index"
