To resolve this issue, start by heading into the preference pane of ReadCube and into SmartCite. From there, de-select the keys you currently have selected as the launch shortcut. By default, this command is "ctrl + ctrl":
Once the keyboard shortcut has been de-selected, fully close both ReadCube and Word. To do this on a Mac, quit both applications from your dock:
On Windows, launch task manger (ctrl + alt + delete) and end all ReadCube and Word process you see:
Once that has been done, please re-start your computer. Once your computer boots back up, re-launch ReadCube, head back into preferences and re-select the keyboard shortcut of your choosing for SmartCite. Then, launch Word and give it a go!
