SmartCite won't Connect

ReadCube's citation tool, SmartCite, is currently still in a beta and as such, is not quite yet the tool we are striving to one day make it. You may encounter some bugs with SmartCite including its seemingly sudden inability to connect to Word and/or ReadCube. 

To resolve this issue, start by heading into the preference pane of ReadCube and into SmartCite. From there, de-select the keys you currently have selected as the launch shortcut. By default, this command is "ctrl + ctrl":

Once the keyboard shortcut has been de-selected, fully close both ReadCube and Word. To do this on a Mac, quit both applications from your dock: 

On Windows, launch task manger (ctrl + alt + delete) and end all ReadCube and Word process you see: 

Once that has been done, please re-start your computer. Once your computer boots back up, re-launch ReadCube, head back into preferences and re-select the keyboard shortcut of your choosing for SmartCite. Then, launch Word and give it a go!
